Proficiency test for thermodynamic parameters: Thermocouples

We are offering a new proficiency test for thermocouple calibrations in the form of a round-robin test.

The proficiency test is conducted within the scope of accreditation as a proficiency testing provider in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17043:2023. Three thermocouples (Type T, Type K, and Type S) with reference points are shipped as calibration items. The calibration objects are to be calibrated using the immersion method in accordance with DKD-R 5-3: 2018. The respective measurement ranges are:

  • Type T: -80 °C to 200 °C
  • Type K: 300 °C to 600 °C
  • Type S: 500 °C to 1000 °C

The assigned values for non-precious metal thermocouples are determined using the weighted average of all participant results from the accredited calibration laboratories. For the Type S thermocouple, the pilot laboratory establishes the reference value based on a calibration at fixed points.

Schedule and Procedure:
Expression of Interest: by June 5, 2026
Planned Start of proficience test: August 2026

The proficiency test will be conducted in a ring format, with interim measurements scheduled at the pilot laboratory, as well as calibration before and after all participants. Each participant has one calendar week to perform the calibration and one week to return the calibration items.
