Our trainees tell

Our apprentice Kamil talks about his experiences during his apprenticeship as an electronics technician for devices and systems at Testo Industrial Services.

Hey, my name is Kamil and I am an apprentice electronics technician for devices and systems at Testo Industrial Services GmbH. I started my apprenticeship in September 2020. Before I started the apprenticeship, I didn't know what I wanted to apply as and I did many internships. However, only one thing fascinated me a lot - and that was the internship as an electronics technician for devices and systems. After that, I applied to several companies and hoped that Testo Industrial Services would invite me for an interview. Fortunately, that also happened!

On the day of the interview, I was very excited and anxious. During the pleasant interview, the excitement and nervousness disappeared. A few days later, I was invited for a trial work day at Testo Industrial Services. On this impressive day, I was shown the electronic areas and was allowed to calibrate a test specimen with an employee. Afterwards, I soldered electronic components for a loudspeaker onto a circuit board in the training lab and measured various measuring ranges together with the instructor in charge and with the help of an oscillator. The day was concluded with a joint lunch and discussion.

When I received the acceptance letter after a few days, I was of course very happy and very excited about the training and everything that was to come.

At the beginning of the training, there was an introductory week, so that we all had a common start. During the week, various areas of the company were presented. There was a joint excursion with all trainees and students and important training sessions were held.

On the first day in the electrical calibration lab, I was given a very friendly welcome and everything important was explained and shown to me.  What was important to me was that I felt very comfortable in the lab from the very first day. My main task since the beginning of the training has been to calibrate various test items. If I ever don't understand something or don't know how to proceed, there is a training officer in each lab but also many nice colleagues who help at any time or explain questions in an understandable way. Everyone at Testo Industrial Services is very helpful and supports me at all times.

Every working day is very interesting and exciting, as there are very many different test specimens of all sizes. This always makes the work varied and versatile.
As a trainee, we also have the opportunity to participate in various projects with other trainees. For example, I'm part of the social media team and on GirlsDay in April 2021 I helped as a presenter.
