Testo Industrial Services established a single sourcing solution for the management of test equipment from Germany, USA, China and Poland as well as the calibration of test equipment from Germany and Poland at Henke-Sass, Wolf GmbH.
Henke-Sass, Wolf GmbH is the technology leader in medical endoscopy. The product range includes medical and technical endoscopes as well as syringes, applicators and flowmeters. The large number of test equipments and the international orientation of Henke-Sass, Wolf GmbH require a comprehensive test equipment management, which supports the calibration processes organisationally.
The goal of the project was therefore to cover the entire process with a test equipment management solution - from test equipment management and calibration to organisation and documentation. The transport of the test equipment to the calibration laboratory and back should also be the responsibility of the service provider.
Thanks to the wide range of services offered by Testo Industrial Services, we get everything from a single source, which reduces the time required for calibration and its organisation. Gauge management is much easier than before. We use PRIMAS worldwide and are thrilled with its intuitive operation and the ability to store and retrieve all information centrally.

Implementation of calibration
- DAkkS and ISO calibrations of high-precision measuring equipment in the accredited laboratories at Testo Industrial Services:
- Dimensional measurements (caliper gauges, micrometers, special measuring equipment)
- Electrical measurements (multimeters, oscilloscopes)
- Thermodynamic measurement variables (temperature, humidity, pressure)
- Mechanical measurement variables (torque wrenches, force measuring devices)
- On-site calibration in Tuttlingen (profile projectors/measuring microscopes, scales)
- Immediate feedback for test equipment outside the tolerance range
- Repairs and adjustments carried out as necessary
PRIMAS® online
- Access to calibration and test equipment data: Worldwide access to relevant data and documents via PRIMAS online.
- Organization of subsidiaries: Mapping of the group structure and organization of test equipment data at site level (USA, China, Poland)
- Ensuring timely calibration: Reminder function for calibration due dates at intervals of your choice
- User-level authorization concept: A PRIMAS administrator within the group determines which data each user is allowed to view and/or change
- No license costs: Any number of users from around the world can be added
- Test equipment status: The escalation scenario for test equipment allows the current status to be tracked (active/due for calibration/currently being calibrated)

Organizing and handling calibration via PRIMAS online enables transparent planning of test equipment. Location-independent and permanent access to all test equipment data and calibration certificates offers the advantage of redundant data availability, which is useful in audits or inspections, for example. The additional “pick-up and delivery service” also ensures fast test equipment availability and greater transport safety.
Implementation of a comprehensive calibration solution including test equipment management
Following a successful pre-audit, during which Henke-Sass, Wolf GmbH was able to verify the high quality of the services and the secure processes, Testo Industrial Services coordinated the establishment of the PRIMAS test equipment management system. To this end, data from more than 5,000 test items was transferred to PRIMAS online. The existing calibration cycles and escalation scenarios were transferred to the system, as were all test equipment data and documents required for the organization of calibration. After the system went live, Testo Industrial Services held a one-day workshop for the main users and an introductory event for all other users. The planning and execution of the calibrations was carried out in accordance with the requirements and specifications of Henke-Sass, Wolf. In addition, a weekly appointment was defined for Testo's own test equipment pick-up and delivery service.
